Magoosh is looking for Remote Test Prep Experts to work anywhere in the US. You must have some experience teaching or tutoring. Here is more about the position straight from their site.

Magoosh has a diverse group of students from around the world who need passionate, hardworking, and empathetic teachers like you to support them on their test-prep journeys and help them reach (and hopefully exceed) their goals. As Magoosh students prepare for their exam by watching lesson videos, answering practice problems, and taking mock exams, they sometimes need personal support to fully understand concepts and maximize their progress. As a Remote Test Prep Expert, you will join a team of experienced teachers crafting written responses to our students that help them master challenging math concepts, apprehend meandering verbal passages, and supercharge their study skills.

This is a remote, part-time position (i.e., work from home). Pay starts at $21.50/hour, with opportunities for advancement. This is a remote position anywhere in the US, so you must be authorized to work in the US.

In this position you will...

• Write answers to student questions about the GRE, GMAT, SAT, ACT, IELTS, TOEFL, and other exams via e-mail

• Support students who come from 100+ countries and all walks of life to learn and grow on their test-prep journey with academic expertise and empathy

• Encourage students to succeed and ensure that they have fun while preparing for their test

• Contribute to making our overall student academic support process more effective

• Future responsibilities may include other content-related projects if desired

You....

• Have previous experience as a tutor or teacher

• Have outstanding writing skills—a grammar maven with a clear, friendly writing style

• Able to teach and explain foundational concepts in math, grammar, reading, science and other exam subjects through written correspondence

• Have a top score in one or more of the following exams: GRE, GMAT, ACT or SAT

• Hold a BA or BS

• Are always plugged in and very responsive online

• Can work a minimum of 15 hours/week

• Are looking to be with Magoosh for 1+ years

Extra credit if you...

• A notable percentage of our students are EFL, so having experience teaching/tutoring IELTS, TOEFL, or EFL is a big plus!

• Are familiar with Zendesk, Slack, and Asana

• Have previous experience with live chat support

Schedule Requirements:

• Require the flexibility to work between the hours of 5am to 12am any day of the week

• Weekend shifts required, including some holidays, schedules are subject to change based on business need

• This is a virtual work from home position. If you live within 35 miles of one of our service centers (Phoenix, AZ or Sunrise, FL) please review our careers site for positions located onsite at one of these centers.

• Current American Express colleagues are not eligible to move from an onsite position to a Home Based position at this time

Environment Requirements:

• A secure home office, free from background noise or other distractions

• Residence in one of 47 states where we currently hire (excluding Alaska, California and Hawaii)

Additional System Requirements:

American Express will cover the connection cost and monthly fees for dedicated telephone and internet service from an American Express approved provider in your area.

The requirements are:

• Dedicated and separate high speed internet with at least 10 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speeds or higher with wired cable connection (no wireless or satellite ISPs allowed)

• The computer and telephone line should only be used for American Express business purposes

• Dedicated and separate analog landline phone (no VOIP-voice over internet protocol) for training and production calls. (e.g. Magic Jack, Vonage and services like these are not permitted)

• Phone modem preferred (vs. a wall jack) where available

In the event there is no American Express approved provider in your area but there is a provider that can offer the appropriate connections, American Express would also make available a one-time reimbursement of up to $100.00 for any set up fees you incur with your provider. You would also receive a monthly allowance on the first paycheck of each month to help cover the cost of these services. You will be required to locate a provider who meets our connectivity requirements and arrange connections.
